Ini Edo Done With Martial Life

After five years together, actress Ini Edo's marriage to her US based husband Philip Ehiagwina has crashed. The couple who lived separately for most of their marriage decided to formally split in early August. There are reports that Ini's people have even returned the bride price Philip paid in 2008.

Ini has since removed her husband's name from her social media accounts and she also removed wife from her bio on instagram. Her bio used to read - actress and wife...but wife is no longer there. A source that I spoke with said they have been having problems for quite a while because of trust issues before they decided to finally end their marriage. They have no children together.

Happy Independent To The Giant Of Africa

TODAY Wednesday, October 1, 2014, marks the 54th anniversary of our independence from our colonial genitors, Great Britain. It is a moment of triumph for both countries.
The United Kingdom has just survived a referendum that would have seen the separation of Scotland from the rest of the country if the “ayes” had had it.
Nigeria-@-54And for Nigeria, we are gradually reasserting our territorial integrity after the second bid by separatists to dismember the country and create a new identity out of a nation born exactly one century ago.
The gallant armed forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria have started rolling back the threat of Islamist insurgency group, Boko Haram, which seized several towns in Adamawa and Borno States and claimed them as part of their putative “Islamic Caliphate”.
With victory imminent and in sight, Nigeria will demonstrate, once again, its ability to hold its own against internal insurrection and external aggression.
This is what nations that are viable and will be great can do. And this is a further incentive for Nigerians to rededicate themselves to the unity of our country, knowing that only a united Nigeria can protect Nigerians and provide them the security they need to actualise their individual and collective aspirations.
As we celebrate today, let us pause and reflect on some of the challenges that have stymied our growth and hampered our emergence to a solid economic and continental behemoth in spite of our natural and human endowments. We have held numerous constitutional and national conferences, the last being the recently-concluded edition in July this year. These conferences were meant as avenues to seek solutions to our problems, which are mainly ethnicity, sectionalism, regionalism and politicisation of our religious faiths rather than using them as means of seeking the face of God our Creator and doing His will.
For the original Nigerian dream for which our founding fathers struggled to free us from colonial bondage to be realised, we must cast aside these unwholesome forces of disunity.
We must see one another as people of one indivisible country bound by common destiny. This country belongs to all of us equally, and our constitution has given us all the right to aspire to the highest endeavours.
We must all go with the spirit and letters of our national charter and give to ourselves and our future generations a nation we can all feel at home in, and be proud of.
The whole world knows that the Federal Republic of Nigeria stands on the threshold of economic emergence. We must henceforth play our politics to ensure that we realise the good things that lie in store for this nation.
Happy birthday, Nigeria!

Inec Ready To Fight Illegal Campaign

Ahead of next year’s general elections, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has threatened to deal with political parties, groups and individuals who engage in illegal campaigns.
The warning was issued on September 26 by Secretary of the Commission Mrs Augusta Ogakwu and published in an INEC bulletin that was released yesterday.
According to the INEC scribe, “The Commission shall henceforth take necessary action against such associations, corporate bodies, individuals, political parties, media or such communication agencies, social media, candidates/aspirants who contravene the provisions of the 1999 Constitution (As amended) and/or Electoral Act 2010 (As amended) on public campaign/rally and procession.”
The statement declared that the Commission’s attention had been drawn to the insistent illegal campaigns carried out by various associations, corporate entities, Individuals, public and private media outfits and other communication agencies in the country in contravention of the provisions of the 1999 Constitution (As Amended) and the Electoral Act 2010 (As Amended) on limitation of political broadcasts.
The Commission further stressed that Section 99 of the Electoral Act 2010 (As Amended) prohibited broadcast and political campaign earlier than ninety (90) days before polling day.
According to the statement: “Section 99 (1) of the Electoral Act 2010 (As Amended) reads: ‘For the purpose of this Act, the period of campaigning in public by every political party shall commence 90 days before polling day and end 24 hours prior to that day’.”
The Commission further stated that:
“Relevant Extracts of the Electoral Act 2010 (As Amended) have since been reproduced and circulated by the Com-mission at public places, media outfits, Federal Ministry of Information, National Orientation Agency (NOA), National Communication Commission (NCC) and Head-quarters of Interparty Advisory Council (IPAC), Headquarters of State, FCT, Local Government Area offices of INEC and the Federal Ministry of Environment for their information and proper guidance.”

19-Year Old Boy 'Accidentally' Impregnates Mum While Testing Love Charm inShare

In Asaba, Delta State, we receive news of a 19-year old boy whho allegedly impregnated his mother while trying out his love charm.

The boy, famously known as Ekenem, apparently went to a native doctor who prepared a love charm for him which was intended for his other and one of the matrons of his boarding school.

The woman's husband had been away - working outside his Port Harcourt base- and denied responsibility for the resultant pregnancy.

The woman, however, while speaking to reporters, said: “I did not know how it all happened, but all I can say is that a young man who looked like my son suddenly found his way into my room at the wee hours and I was speechless.”

The suspect, speaking at the police HQ to journalists, said: “I am deeply sorry for all that has happened, I did not mean to do this. I saw myself falling in love with her after the love charm prepared for me. I have to confess because I know by so doing, God will touch her mind and I know she will forgive me. I suddenly found that I was making love to mum when I thought the charm will not work, and upon the revelation, I threatened to kill her and the matter was reported to the police."

It Was A Gift From The Congregation Not The President

President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Pastor Ayo Oristejafor yesterday addressed the issue of the $9.3 million arms money which was found his private jet in South Africa.

According to THIS DAY, Oritsejafor, who spoke during the National Executive Council (NEC) meeting of CAN at the National Christian Centre, Abuja, said, he had kept quite all the while because he needed to explain his position to the church which is his primary constituency.

"I wish to assure you that I will not do anything to tarnish the image of Jesus Christ or compromise the divine standard of the church. As you are all aware, the media has been awash in the past few days about an unfortunate incident involving the movement of funds from Nigeria to South Africa. In the unfortunate news reports, attempts have been made to link me directly with the transaction.

"So far, I have refrained from making any direct public response pending the time that I would brief the leaders if the church and explain my position on the issues to them. I believe that the primary institution that I owe any explanation is the church.

"At the risk of being seen to be defending myself, I wish to confirm to the distinguished leaders of the church that the Bombardier Challenger 601 aircraft in question is mine. The aircraft was presented to me as a gift by members of our congregation and ministry partners world wide at the 40th anniversary of my call into the ministry.

"May I be permitted to stress that the aircraft was not given to me by the President of Nigeria, neither was it a settlement for any political favour or patronage.

"With the benefit of hindsight, it is because the president of the country was a guest in our church during the anniversary celebration when the Jet was presented to me that it was construed to imply that it was a gift from the President of the country.”

"The President of Nigeria has nothing to do with the gift of the aircraft. By the way, I still wonder why all those saying this still cannot come out to show proof so that the matter can be put to rest once and for all. Let me say that this might be an issue of the courts in the near future.”

"In order to ameliorate the cost of maintenance of the aircraft, I sought and got permit to allow the aircraft fly in and out of Nigeria.

"Based on this, I leased the aircraft on August 2, 2014, to a company to run it. It was the leasee that entered into an agreement with the people who carried out the transfer of funds. Having leased the aircraft to the Green Coast Produce Company Limited, any transaction undertaken with the aircraft can no longer be attached to me.

"In as much as I am shocked and distressed by the incident, I wish to appeal to Christians in Nigeria to remember that a war has been waged against the Nigerian church. This war is being fought on many fronts and this unfortunate incident is another dimension in the assault against the church.

"It is clear that those who manipulated this conspiracy desire to create a schism in the church.

"The media hype and the deliberate distortion of information that followed it confirmed that forces that desperately desire to cause division and disunity in the church are at work. Even the devil knows that a house that is divided cannot stand.

"As Christians, we need unity in the church now more than ever. We are witnessing inhuman attacks by religious extremists against Christians in the northern part of the country, while Christian infrastructure is being destroyed in hundreds.

"If we permit the enemy to divide us, our chances of corporate survival shall be severely threatened. Distinguished leaders of the church, please permit me to state clearly before God and before all of you here present today, that I am not a party to the movement of $9.3 million from Nigeria to South Africa to purchase arms and ammunitions. I am not part of the deal. I know nothing about it.

The CAN President concluded his defence by commending the Catholic Church for its support. Quoting Matthew Chapter 18 verses 15 to 20, Oritsejafor said, "If I offend you or you offend me, instead of talking to media, let us talk to each other within the house of God.

Tiwa Savage Moves Out Of Matrimonial Home

The end of the marital crisis between beautiful singer Tiwa Savage and her husband, Tee Billz (born Tunji Balogun) is nowhere in sight as the singer has reportedly moved out of her matrimonial home and presently rides on the edge of calling it quits with her husband and seeking a divorce.

Just a few days ago, we reported the strained relationship between both Tiwa Savage and her husband but as it stands, things appear to be going out of hand as we gathered that unable to tolerate Tee Billz's habit of allegedly hitting/beating her coupled with allegations of infidelity, Tiwa Savage considered that the last straw and moved out.

Both Tiwa Savage and her husband continue to drop strong pointers that all is not well with their relationship as made manifest in Tiwa Savage not wishing her husband a happy birthday until mid-day, Tee Billz not mentioning Tiwa Savage in his own birthday message to himself.

"Tiwa Savage and Tunji Balogun are indeed having issues and family members are trying to talk them into not separating. The truth is Tunji hits Tiwa sometimes. He’s been hitting her even before they got married but she went ahead to marry him... We all know he gets angry at slightest provocation. She probably married him out of fear, or out of pity for helping her to attain the status she has reached today. That was what happened to his first relationship too...," a source recently told YNaija.

Another source revealed that alleged that Tee Billz has been cheating on Tiwa Savage for a while now; even as recently as 4 weeks ago. "He cheats on her... The last act weeks ago, got her angry, and after confronting him, she was ready to leave the house but she has been pacified by relatives to hang on and not leave.”
The fact that the couple no longer engage in public display of affection as they usually do further fuels the growing rumours of an impending separation/divorce.

On a percentage basis, what are the chances of this ending well out of 100? 100 being the perfect reunion

TiwaSavage Sack Husband As Manager

As news of Tiwa Savage, Nigerian singer and songwriter's alleged matrimonial crisis continues to rage on, the singer appears to be slowly confirming the fears of fans and friends as she recently struck a pose with her new manager, Emeka also known as Meka Millions.

While allegations of infidelity and domestic violence remain unconfirmed, Mekka, we gathered, now receives Tiwa Savage's phone calls and has been accompanying her to events for a while now.

Eva Back On Track As Guinness Signs Endorsement Deal With Her

Forget her tom-boy attitude. Fast-rising rapper Eva Alordiah  who recently signed an endorsement deal with Guinness Nigeria Plc disclosed how she feels about the platform Guinness has given  her.
Eva Alordiah
Eva Alordiah
According to her: “The Guinness #MadeOfBlack campaign is one I am very proud to be a part of. It speaks volumes of the same things and ideals I have been trying to pass across for a while now.
What we have just talked about with my new single “War Coming” is what Guinness is trying to pass across with this campaign all over Africa which I think is huge. I’m happy Guinness identified with me as real as I am and  enough to give me a role as significant as this”
Describing the inspiration behind her new single ‘War Coming’ she says she has long identified with the song because it tells the story of her many struggles with life. “ As someone who has gone through many ups and downs to get where I am, having a medium as beautiful as music to express myself and my many views through real life experiences, the song “War Coming” helps me do that with ease.
It’s like you are at war with yourself in search for a better you, a more successful you, a deeper sweeter meaning to this beautiful life we have been blessed with.

Manchester City under pressure

Manchester City will look to bounce back from an opening defeat at Bayern Munich when they host Roma in the Champions League on Tuesday, as Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea go to Lisbon.
AFP Sports looks at all the fixtures in Groups E on Tuesday:
Group E
CSKA MOSCOW V BAYERN MUNICH
Bayern players in training ...
Bayern players in training …
Bayern beat CSKA home and away in the group stage of last season’s Champions League and the Russianchampions‘ hopes of getting a result this time will not be helped by the fact the match will be played behind closed doors at the Arena Khimki. CSKA, who trail leaders Zenit by four points at the top of the Russian Premier League, are being punished by UEFA for the bad behaviour of their fans during a group stage match last season.
The visitors have considerable selection problems just now, with Franck Ribery, Javi Martinez and Thiago Alcantara among those on the sidelines and Jerome Boateng doubtful, but they are yet to lose this season and have not even conceded a goal in their last five outings. Bayern beat Manchester City 1-0 on matchday one while CSKA were thumped 5-1 by Roma in Italy.
MANCHESTER CITY V ROMA
After conceding late to go down 1-0 to Bayern in their group opener, the visit of Roma is already a must-win game for Manuel Pellegrini’s English champions. Manchester City have scored 11 goals in winning their last two matches, but a meeting with a Roma side who have won all five Serie A games so far and thumped CSKA Moscow 5-1 two weeks ago promises to be a stiff test. City have not beaten Italian opponents since a 3-0 victory over AC Milan in the UEFA Cup in 1978-79, and Roma coach Rudi Garcia said: “All the pressure is on them. They need to get a result at their home ground.”
Roma, who famously lost 7-1 across Manchester against United in the Champions League quarter-finals in 2007, have been without Daniele De Rossi for their last two games. Samir Nasri is on the sidelines for City with a groin problem.

Champions league clash

BATE BORISOV V ATHLETIC BILBAO
Athletic will be eager to get back to winning ways when they become the first visitors to BATE’s new Borisov Arena in a Champions League group game. Sixteen years on from their last appearance at this stage of the competition, Athletic kicked off in Group H by drawing 0-0 with Shakhtar Donetsk two weeks ago. They have had a poor start to the season in La Liga, but the Basque club’s coach Ernesto Valverde said: “This is another competition, in which we are still unbeaten, and we will go out looking for a victory as always.”
BATE may dominate in Belarus but their difficulties in adapting to this level were laid bare in a 6-0 trouncing at the hands of Porto on matchday one
SHAKHTAR DONETSK V FC PORTO
Shakhtar’s status as one of the emerging powers in the European game has been diminished by the bloody conflict that continues to rage around their home in Donetsk in eastern Ukraine. Their state-of-the-art Donbass Arena was last month damaged by shell fire and they are now forced to host Porto in Lviv, over 1,000 kilometres away in the west of the country.
Despite the disruption, Mircea Lucescu’s side lie second in their domestic league and drew 0-0 at Athletic Bilbao two weeks ago. However, they will face a stern test from Porto, whose unbeaten start to the campaign includes a 6-0 win against BATE. Julen Lopetegui’s side will be without the injured Ricardo Quaresma and Casemiro for the trip east.

October 1 finally out

Abuja  - The Nigerian film industry, ‘Nollywood’, on Monday said it would release “a must watch film”, titled titled “October 1”, a dark psychological thriller film for Nigeria’s independence anniversary.
The movie “October 1”, is slated to be released and featured in Nigerian theatres, cinemas and viewing locations from Oct. 1, which is Nigeria’s 54th anniversary.october-1-kunle
The film “October 1’’, premiered on Sept. 28, was written by Tunde Babalola, produced and directed by Kunle Afolayan, talks about Nigeria and the verge of independence from British colonial rule.
“This masterpiece, which was directed by Mr Kunle Afolayan, was reportedly made with over N200 million and was shot in Lagos and Ondo states for over forty days, after four months on pre-production.
“Mr Afolayan believes strongly that there is so much potential for this kind of film and that people will start believing in indigenous film projects after watching ‘October 1’.
“One thing is crystal clear; Nigerians and non-Nigerians alike are waiting enthusiastically for the release of October 1.
“It will swarm the cinemas to watch the movie that is poised to leave a long lasting positive impression on all who see it,” a statement on its website; en.wikipedia.org/wiki/October _1_(film) said.
“Afolayan, who was also an award winner of African Magic Viewer Choice Award and popular filmmaker, pointed out that ‘October 1’ is not just an entertainment film, but also informative.
“For the older generation, especially those who were part of independence, they will be able to see themselves in this film.
“For the younger generation it’s a platform for many of them who don’t know the story of Nigeria.
“We want the younger generation to know where we are coming from and the older generation to see if we are moving in the right direction,” it explained.
The statement also said: “The film had received sponsorships from Lagos State Government, Toyota, Elizade Motors and Sovereign Trust Insurance.
“The producer though didn’t want to do massive budget projects at the time with the script original name ‘dust’ because it was acted on dusty ground.
“He knew he had no choice, as he wanted to interpret the writer’s vision adequately because it is a `national film with a universal appeal’.’’
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that some key Nollywood actors made up the cast crew of the film ‘October1’.
Some of the actors are Kanayo O. Kanayo, who acted as Okafor; Bimbo Manuel, as Canon Kuforiji; Kehinde Bankole as Miss Tawa, and Kayode Aderupoko as Inspector Afonja.
Others include the famous veteran actor and broadcaster, Sadiq Daba, who play lead character Inspector DanWaziri, while Deola Sagoe of Haute Couteur plays the
legendary Funmilayo Ransom Kuti, among others.
Kunle Afolayan, who was not left out in the cast like in his previous films, featured in ‘October 1’ as a farmer with the name Agbekoya. (NAN)

boko haram at it again in Adamawa

No fewer   than 500 houses were destroyed in the Kubi and Watu villages in Michika Local Government Areas of Adamawa State as the suspected Boko Haram insurgents operated unchallenged in one of its recent attacks.
BOKO-WOMEN
Members of the community, who spoke on the telephone from their hideouts told Vanguard that the absence of military personnel in Michika and its environs was responsible for the heavy damage inflicted on them.
“Since the complete take-over of Michika and Madagali by the insurgents on September 7, 2014, no single soldier has been noticed in the area. The only thing we see are jet fighters which come from Yola, the state capital to drop bombs and go back. Our people are helpless as the insurgents control everything in our local government,” they lamented.
According to them, the insurgents were having a field day maiming and killing people and leaving their dead bodies at the mercy of vultures and pigs.
They further alleged that only Vimtim, the hometown of the Chief of Defence Staff, CDS, Air marshal Alex Badeh was fortified by the military in the area.
They then urged the Federal Government, to as a matter of urgency deploy military personnel to the affected areas to give the people a sense of belonging.
The people Michika faulted the actions of the political class in the state, whom they accused of abandoning them at their trying periods .
